Ammae Vathakuzhambu

It is hard to forget the taste of traditional recipes as it lingers in our taste buds. Vathakuzhambhu is a delicious south -Indian dish prepared with the simplest of ingredients. It tastes delicious when stored for a day, as the taste deepens and flavour penetrates in the gravy. If you want to give a twist to your usual sambar try Ammae Vathakuzhambhu.Its also called Karakuzhambu.

Key Ingredients:

• Tamarind powder
• Dry chilly
• Black gram dal
• Till
• Mustard seeds
• Asafetida powder
• Fenugreek
• Salt
• Turmeric powder

How to use: 

• Step 1: Take 2 tbl spoon of Ammae Vathakuzhambhu, add 200-225ml of water, and mix it without lumps.
• Step 2: Add 1tsp of sesame oil (optional) to enhance the taste. Place it in the stove with medium flame and keep stirring (for 5-10 mins) till it thickens.
• Step 3: Add fresh curry leaves to serve. It is ready to be used along with rice.
• Step 4: It is optional to add ghee while having with rice which will help in enhancing the aroma and taste.
